Flag's Stats are Up From Last Year, but Down Since the 1980s

Flag's total of 6126 completions for 2004 is an increase of 34% over 2003 - but 2003 was significantly down from 2002. 2004's 6126 completions is less than 4% higher than 2002's 5918 completions.

Compared to Flag's nearly 30-year history, the apparent uptrend looks more like a temporary peak in the ongoing rise and fall since 1989.

Annual totals were higher in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1996 than they were in 2004.
