Important Note
I have received email, apparently from Boyd Vico, stating that his
fiance's employer registered him for this course against his wishes.
According to the email, Mr. Vico never actually attended the course.
I received email, apparently from Ms. Rojas, stating the following:
"Ms. Rojas became involved with the Church of Scientology via an indirectly affiliated organization that required her to participate in coursework offered by the church of Scientology. At the end of the Purification Rundown - completed for health reasons, as per Ms. Rojas - she attended a church service at God's Grace Covenant Church, located in the San Fernando Valley. On that day, she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. Within one month of attending that service, Ms. Rojas cut off all ties with the church of Scientology."
The email also states that the actual completion dates for the services listed below were:
HUBBARD DIANETICS SEMINAR - March 2005
OVERCOMING UPS AND DOWNS IN LIFE COURSE - February 2005
PURIFICATION RUNDOWN - April 2005
This clarification from Ms. Rojas illustrates the note below, which states that publication dates are often weeks or months later than the actual service completion date. Her email also supports my assertion that most people who try Scientology participate for a very brief time - in the case of Ms. Rojas, a mere three months.
I have received email, apparently from Renee Reres, stating that she did not complete the Ups and Downs in Life Course, nor has she completed any other Scientology course. (While emails can be forged easily, I am willing to take this assertion at face value.)
This provides an important data point indicating that, at least in this instance, Scientology reported a service that this individual did not complete. If a significant number of individuals provide similar reports, I will begin to adjust my completion tallies to reflect the new information.
